Wadi Qari

Access to this wadi is through the falaj (irrigation) system. It was our first trekking and pool swimming in Oman in our second day on the way to Nizwa from Muscat.

Wahiba Sands

A red sand desert we visited on the third day on the way to Sur.

Wadi an Nakhur

Also known as Wadi Ghul, or the Grand Canyon of Arab, is a rough and adventurous route to the bottom of Jebel Sham, the highest peak of Oman.

Grand Mosque (Sultan Qaboos Mosque)

Located not far from the Airport, this beautiful mosque was built by the king Sultan Qaboos to mark his 30th year of reign. The Persian carpet inside 60m x 70m, is the largest in the world, made by 600 women in 4 years. Wear trousers when visiting, otherwise, like my three musketeers, they had to wait in the car when I admired the mosque…: )

Nakhal

Nakhal, a city located in the northern downhill of western Hajar Mountain, is famous for the fort and hot springs. We visited on the first day afternoon after siesta. Around 2 hours drive from Muscat.

As Sifah (North)

New bypass route to As Sifah, makes this wonderful beaches easy to reach as a daytrip from Muscat. We visited this beach on the first day we arrived in Oman, after visiting Yiti and Bandar as Jissah (Oman Dive Center and Shangri-la).

Ras al Jinz

Ras al Jinz, famous for turtle nesting, is located not south of Sur. The white sand beach is so beautiful, no wonder turtles keep coming back for the nesting, the place they were born.
